Endorsement Cheat Sheet

Unless specifically called out, any candidate we interview is someone Progress Portland endorses for their district. It is inevitable that we will endorse more than three contenders out of each field because we are lucky to have so many thoughtful and wonderful people wanting to represent their communities. This is exactly why we are doing this – so you, the voter, can listen to the open and honest conversations we are having with the candidates and linking to their campaigns so you can make an informed decision on who you feel best represents your values.

Ranked-Choice voting is new to Portland and for City Council, you will be able to choose up to six candidates that you’d like to see win in your district. We encourage you to leave off people you don’t feel meet your values and only choose the ones that do. The city web site has a pretty good explanation of how it all works. Its really not as complicated as some of the current elected officials have made it out to be. And the cool thing is that for the things we as constituents feel need to be tweaked or changed, we can do that with our newly-elected council members.
